CARING
MINISTRY
In
carrying out our mission as a "grace place," the caring
ministry expresses God’s graciousness in the area of pastoral
needs of our members.
The
Caring Ministry seeks to:
- See
that the elderly, shut-ins, sick, and the needy are given adequate
personal support and attention.
- Counsel
adults who are 55 and above.
- Give
time and attention to Care Givers as well as those in need of
care.
This
ministry sees that our elderly, homebound, nursing home residents,
the sick, and the needy are given adequate personal support and
attention. This ministry provides for our Church family in the spirit
of I Timothy 5:8, “But if anyone does not provide for
his own, especially for those of his household, he has denied the
faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” This verse comes
in the context of teaching that the Church Family should look after
its members when the immediate family cannot.
The
Caring Ministry seeks to connect the unconnected Senior Adult to
Christ and to a Christian community where each can grow in full
devotion to God. The ministry is designed to be a non-threatening
environment where Christian senior adults will feel comfortable
inviting their non-Christian senior adult friends.
Due
to the Federal Privacy Act, hospitals will not tell us the names
of patients. Therefore, we request that the members notify the Church
Office when members are in the hospital so that the Caring Ministry
staff can visit them. We have no other way of knowing when our members
are in the hospital.
